Foundation Governors

Pauline Mallaby

I am a new governor and look forward to helping our school achieve the best it can for all our pupils and their families. I am recently retired but have worked in a number of schools in the area and was a Headteacher of two primary schools, one in Accrington and the other in Salesbury, near Blackburn. I currently volunteer at a primary school in Clayton-le-Moors where I began my teaching career many years ago. I am a season ticket holder at Blackburn Rovers FC, love reading and going to the theatre. I also enjoy walking and finally having the time to meet friends. I am married and have one daughter. I am a strong believer in the importance of a happy school experience where every child achieves to the best of their ability.

I am a Prestonian.  On leaving school I studied Geography at Durham University before working in the financial sector throughout Lancashire for several years.  In 2005 I began to train to become a minister in the Church of England.  I was ordained in 2008 and since  then I have been based at various parishes in Blackburn.  Since 2013 I have been the Vicar of St Luke, St Mark and St Philip's, Blackburn and St Aidan's Blackburn.

When I have spare time I am interested in all sports, particularly badminton which I played for many years and supporting Preston North End F.C. I also enjoy fell walking, having a meal with friends and have a love of cartography.

I am a housewife and I enjoy looking after my children. I have 6 children, 1 boy and 5 girls. I believe that education is very important and therefore fully support their education and learning. I hope for them to achieve all that they aspire and have passion for in life in the future.

In my spare time I like to research new ideas and find out interesting facts about the world. I also enjoy exercising and keeping healthy. When we have time we like playing various games and I especially enjoy bowling with my children.

I have been a primary school teacher for 9 years and a teacher at St Luke and St Philip’s Primary School for 7 years, a place where I have always found teaching exhilarating and rewarding.

I am currently working as an Inclusion Manager with previously being a Year 6 teacher (in the afternoons) and a Reading Leader. My role as a Read Write Inc Manager involves teaching as a Reading Recovery Teacher, supporting RWI staff with CPD, assistance and support when teaching and monitoring their groups.

I come from a loving family and therefore my family is my focal point and I enjoy spending time with them. I also love travelling and make it a point to enjoy seeing the wonders of the world. Reading is also a passion of mine and therefore I enjoy reading in my spare time.
