2016 - 2017 Worship Overview

Autumn Term (1st Half)

(including Harvest)

Christians believe that God loves and cares for them in many different ways in all aspects of their life.  Through Jesus’ teaching we love others as we love ourselves and we give cheerfully and generously.

Autumn Term (2nd Half)

(including Advent)

Christians believe that true wisdom comes from God.  As a believer grows in faith so wisdom will increase.  In the Bible wisdom is seen both as a gift from God and a characteristic of God.  In his parables Jesus taught that placing trust in God and recognising what is of value in life brings fulfilment.

Spring Term (1st Half)

Service Christians believe that God loves and cares for them in many different ways. Service is revealed in the Bible and supremely in the person and life of Jesus Christ.  Through Jesus’ teaching we are given an insight into the nature of God and the way in which He means us to live.

Spring Term (2nd Half)

Respect & Reverence

(including Easter)

Christians respect God.  Christians believe to respect people’s feelings.  Even if it doesn’t mean anything to you, it could mean everything to them.

Summer Term (1st Half)

Perseverence Christians believe that you need to keep on going against all odds, perseverance and actions must reflect the kindness, mercy and compassion of Jesus and the love of God for everyone.

Summer Term (2nd Half)

Responsibility According to The Bible Christians have responsibilities to live up to.

  • This academic year we shall look at one Christian value for the whole half term.
  • At the end of every half term, in a bit to actively involve children more, each class will, in turn, plan and lead worship on an aspect of the value that has particularly caught their imagination.
